When two batteries are connected in series, a charge imbalance can occur. The balancer compares the voltage of the two series-connected batteries. The balancer draws a current of up to 5 A from the battery (or batteries connected in parallel) with the highest voltage. The resulting difference in charging current then ensures that all batteries reach the same state of charge.
If necessary, multiple balancers can be connected in parallel.
The Blackbox Battery Equakizer app for Android (not for iOS) allows battery status to be monitored via Bluetooth.
