This solar power system makes you partially independent from the grid. You can produce your own solar electricity and thus reduce your electricity costs. This plug-and-play solar system is easy to install. You simply connect the individual parts and plug them into your outdoor socket. Thanks to the 5-meter cable with a Swiss plug, this is very easy.
The solar power kits for balconies are good starter sets for off-grid power supply. The solar panels in the kits are designed to fit any standard balcony railing.
For every plug-in solar set, we have the appropriate installation kit so that the module can be mounted directly onto the balcony railing.
The module inverter included in the set is designed according to Swiss ESTI standards and feeds a maximum of 600W of power into the existing socket. The microinverter can be connected directly to the outdoor socket via the AC connection and the appropriate cable.
In Switzerland, it is currently permitted to install small plug-and-play solar systems with a maximum output of 600W without a permit. The only requirement is that the grid operator is informed about the operation of the solar system. Larger systems must be installed by a qualified professional.
When installing the system, please note that only one plug-and-play unit may be connected per outdoor socket. The outdoor sockets are normally protected by a residual current device (RCD).
You would like to produce your own solar power, but you're not sure what you need to consider?
The following applies: For anything mounted outside the rented property (specifically: outside the balcony railing or the facade), tenants need the landlord's consent. This is because the landlord (and not the tenant) could be held liable for any damage caused by a falling solar panel. This has often resulted in tenants not receiving permission and thus not being able to benefit from balcony solar installations.
Landlords can grant permission on the condition that the panels are professionally installed and that the tenants assume liability for any damages. A sample agreement was drawn up for this purpose in cooperation with Casafair and the Tenants' Association. (Source: topten.ch)
You can find the sample agreement here.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that you'll soon be able to produce your own solar power and do some good.
