Ready for your new solar panel system?
Let’s talk about your project and find out what’s possible with your vehicle.
In this article, we’ll introduce you to the first solar panels in the new SOLTURA Pro Series: the SOLTURA 160 Pro – a semi-flexible solar panel with an aluminium core for uneven roofs; the high-performance SOLTURA 400 Pro for large areas; and the SOLTURA ULTRA range with its patented honeycomb structure to minimise shading. You’ll also find out which solar panel is best suited to your needs and how, together with our partner workshop BiwakLab, we make camper van conversions as straightforward as possible for you.
AutoSolar’s new range of solar panels for campervans, balconies and roofs
Buying a new solar panel sometimes feels a bit like comparing smartphones: watts here, efficiency there, and in the end you’re not sure whether you’ve bought a solar panel or a calculator. That’s why we at AutoSolar have simplified things. With the SOLTURA Pro Series, we’re launching a range of solar panels where you no longer have to guess between ten different variants, but know for sure: this is the real deal.
In this article, we’ll introduce you to the first solar panels in the SOLTURA Pro Series — ranging from compact and flexible to large and high-performance — and show you which solar panel is right for your motorhome, balcony or roof.

SOLTURA is our new premium range of solar panels. The name was not chosen at random: Sol stands for ‘sun’, whilst -tura is the Latin suffix also used in our other product ranges — such as AVANTURA for our power stations. One family, one promise of quality.
Unlike a traditional range of solar panels, the SOLTURA Pro Series includes only those solar panels which we at AutoSolar know from our own experience to be truly reliable — tested under real-world conditions, not just on the spec sheet. High-performance monocrystalline cells, hail-resistant safety glass, anodised aluminium frames, IP65-certified junction boxes: this is the standard to which every solar panel in this range adheres.
Not every surface is flat. Camper van roofs have curves, and boats even more so. This is exactly where the semi-flexible SOLTURA 160 Pro demonstrates its strengths.
This semi-flexible solar panel features an integrated aluminium core — a detail that sets it apart from most other flexible solar panels on the market. The aluminium core dissipates heat more effectively, maintains a stable shape and ensures that the solar panel does not ‘stretch out’ even after years in the sun, as can happen with pure plastic laminates.
What is the SOLTURA 160 Pro – semi-flexible solar panel with aluminium core – suitable for?
At 160 watts and just 3 mm thick, this solar panel is the compromise you don’t have to make if your roof isn’t perfectly flat.
At the other end of the spectrum is the SOLTURA 400 Pro — our most powerful solar panel in the range, designed for anyone who wants a single solar panel to do the work of three.
72 monocrystalline solar cells, entirely black, protected by hail-resistant safety glass and an anodised aluminium frame. The result: 400 watts of rated power from a single solar panel that works just as well on large motorhome roofs, on boats with sufficient space, or as the central element of a balcony power plant.
What is the SOLTURA 400 Pro suitable for?
One solar panel, one mounting point, less cabling. Sometimes the simplest solution is also the best.

Whilst the Pro models are all about maximum performance and flexibility, the SOLTURA ULTRA range tackles a completely different problem: shading. Anyone who has ever installed a solar panel under a tree, next to an aerial or in the shadow of a sail mast will be familiar with the problem. With a conventional solar panel, a single shaded cell is enough to cause the output of the entire string to drop dramatically.
The SOLTURA ULTRA solar panels solve this problem with a genuine world first: a patented honeycomb structure combined with cell-level shading management. Shaded areas are automatically bypassed, whilst the rest of the solar panel continues to generate electricity uninterrupted. Added to this is a patented heat-insulating backsheet that prevents hot spots — an effect which, in conventional flexible solar panels, can lead to a loss of output and, in the worst case, a fire hazard.
And because a glass-free design also means less weight: Weighing just 4.4 kg per square metre, SOLTURA ULTRA solar panels are around 63% lighter than conventional glass modules.

The SOLTURA 170 Ultra is the entry-level model in the ULTRA technology range: a lightweight, shade-tolerant solar panel with a peak output of 170 watts. Ideal as a supplementary panel on a motorhome roof that is not entirely free from shade — whether due to a skylight, an aerial or a low-hanging branch at the campsite.

The SOLTURA 310 Ultra brings the same technology to a larger, more powerful model — 310 watts peak power, shade-tolerant and just as glass-free and lightweight. For anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of ULTRA technology across a larger area without compromising on shade tolerance.
Four solar panels, four use cases. So you don’t have to search for ages, here’s the short version:
| You are... | The right solar panel |
|---|---|
| Camper with a round or uneven roof | SOLTURA 160 Pro (flexible) |
| Motorhome owners with plenty of free roof space | SOLTURA 400 Pro |
| Campervans with roof windows, aerials or shaded areas | SOLTURA 170 Ultra or SOLTURA 310 Ultra |
| Looking for a high-performance balcony solar panel | SOLTURA 400 Pro |

Buying solar panels is one thing. Installing them properly on the roof is quite another. That’s exactly why we at AutoSolar work with our partner workshop BiwakLab.
It’s as simple as this: you choose your SOLTURA solar panel from us, and we’ll send it directly and conveniently to BiwakLab — you don’t have to worry about a thing. Your only job: drop your motorhome off at BiwakLab. There, your solar panel will be professionally fitted and wired by people who know exactly what’s important when it comes to campervan conversions.
No need to hunt for an electrician, no need to coordinate between the supplier and the workshop — we take care of the logistics, BiwakLab takes care of the installation. In the end, you simply get your motorhome back with a fully fitted solar panel.
